VENTOUX >>> NICE WITH THE FEMMES.
Following the Femmes and celebrating their ride.
Last weekend, the stars of the women’s peloton finished their epic ride around France with two days’ racing in our back yard. With the Femmes visiting both Mont Ventoux and Nice, it was an excuse to bring people together and show them some of our favourite roads, before watching the women fight it out.
It all started in Paris, with a women’s community ride on the occasion of the Grand Départ in Switzerland, before moving swiftly to Ventoux where we took up residence for two hot days in the official event village of the Étape du Tour Femmes avec Zwift, receiving visits from hundreds of curious cyclists.
Then, for the stage itself, our Bédoin store was party central, with DJs, a food truck and a giant screen to watch the Femmes before they rode right past the door and up the Giant of Provence.
The action then moved to Nice, where we partnered with Škoda and Zwift on more rides, before taking up residence on the Virage Café du Cycliste, for four rounds of seeing the Femmes climb the famous and historic Col d’Èze. Then it was a frantic rush down to the shop, which was staying open late for the finale on the Promenade des Anglais… and an after party on the beach.
With perhaps the most exciting women’s race yet, and a podium that was only decided with less than 20 kilometres to go, it was amazing to see these athletes on our home roads. And above all participate in a weekend of positivity, community and celebration of women’s cycling!
