ROAD RACERS OFF ROAD For 2024, Café du Cycliste’s women’s gravel team welcomes four men from Team Nice Métropole Côte d’Azur, seconded from their road racing duties to explore gravel tracks.

The Café du Cycliste Gravel Team. A new year and new season on the horizon for the Gravel Team. The all-female squad will once again test their endurance, spirit and commitment on an international circuit.

Gravel in Beaujolais. The new wine of the season had already been well celebrated when a couple of local cyclists ventured to follow ex-pro and Café du Cycliste ambassador Jérôme Cousin around the vineyards. The course displays 35km for 1200m of elevation gain, nothing very difficult on paper.

Gravel in Gruyère. La Gruyère is in the canton of Fribourg, and has become famous for its cows, mountain pastures and the cheese of the same name produced here. The small Swiss enclave of just under 500km2 is a favourite place for cyclists who love natural beauty and plenty of elevation.

#whatisgravel: An Gravel exploration of Mont Blanc. The Roof of Europe, more commonly known as Mont Blanc, culminates at 4810 metres and to circle its base, three countries must be crossed. Asking the question #whatisgravel at this altitude, is an exciting prospect.

Jérôme Cousin: From the Peloton to the Desert. Less than a year ago, Jérôme Cousin was still a professional bike racer. He’s ridden in some of the world’s greatest races, including the Tour de France. Now, pedalling in the desert, riding a bike loaded with luggage, Jérôme’s only onlookers are the occasional farmer and his camels.
